Senate Meetings

The ASWSU Senate meets every Wednesday at 5:30 pm in the Senate meeting room, CUB 204, unless otherwise stated. These meetings are open to the public.  If you have any questions, please contact the Senate Pro-Tempore, Bea Obaob at aswsu.protempore@wsu.edu

  • Internal Affairs Committee: 2025-2026 Meeting Time - Sundays at 7:00 p.m., Zoom

  • External Affairs Committee
    • The External Affairs Committee is the outreach arm of the ASWSU Senate, responsible for connecting the Senate with students across campus through tabling and events held throughout the year. Each semester, the committee organizes a joint meeting between the ASWSU Senate and the Pullman City Council, fostering collaboration between student and community leaders. The committee also manages the initial resolution process before resolutions are presented on the Senate floor. The External Committee this year consists of the following Senators:

      • Abdelrahman Abdelrazek: External Affairs Committee Chair and All Campus Senator
      • Levi Lamprey: College of Veterinary Medicine Senator and External Affairs Committee Vice Chair
      • Sara Regalado Lopez: All Campus Senator
      • Tatiana Trowers-Norris: Voiland College of Engineering Senator
      • Madison Dennis: Voiland College of Engineering Senator
      • Madeleine Rice: Carson College of Business Senator
      • Guneet Kaur: Honors College Senator

    • The External Affairs Committee meets weekly on Sundays at 7:00 p.m. through Zoom unless otherwise stated

  • Engagement Committee
    • The Engagement Committee serves as the financial arm of the ASWSU Senate, overseeing the budgeting process for the ASWSU Service and Programming Committees. The committee presents funding requests to the Service & Activity Fee Committee annually. Members regularly attend Service & Programming Committee meetings and review all fee referendums before they reach the Senate floor. The Engagement Committee this year consists of the following Senators:

      • Sage Steelman: Engagement Committee Chair and College of Agricultural, Human, and Natural Resource Sciences Senator
      • Cassidy Collins: Murrow College of Communications Senator and Engagement Committee Vice Chair
      • Tiara Vazquez: Uncertified Senator
      • Ifeoluwa Ogabi: College of Arts and Sciences Senator
      • Parker Fouts: College of Arts and Sciences Senator
      • Colton Anderson: College of Education Senator
      • Parker Casey: Freshman Delegate

    • The Engagement Committee meets in-person in CUB 406 on alternating Thursdays at 6:15 p.m.

  • Internal Affairs Committee
    • The Internal Affairs Committee ensures the integrity of the ASWSU Senate's processes and standards. It is responsible for reviewing and overseeing changes to the ASWSU Bylaws and evaluating bills submitted by senators. The Internal Committee this year consists of the following Senators:

  • Rules Council
    • The Rules Council, consisting of the Chair and Vice Chairs of the External, Engagement, and Internal Committees, along with the Senate Pro Tempore, reviews bills and resolutions from the Internal and External Committees before they are sent to the Senate floor for voting. The council is also responsible for setting the weekly agenda for Senate meetings. Rules Council consists of the following Chairs, Vice Chair, and Senate Pro Tempore:

  • Budget Council
    • The Budget Council reviews budgets and fee requests for ASWSU Service & Programming Committees, KUGR, CABLE 8, Allegro, LandEscapes, and STAGE. Comprised of members from the Engagement and Internal Committees, as well as the Senate Pro Tempore, the council meets annually to approve funding for the next operating year. The Engagement Chair presents these requests to the Service & Activity Fee Committee for further review.
    • Budget Council is going to be held on October 26th and November 2nd
