Safewalk
15 Oct 2009
Thursday 8pm-12am, Friday and Saturday 9pm-2am.
SafeWalk is as volunteer based program that allows students to use on foot chaperones to and from campus and surrounding areas. Areas include campus, residence halls, and College Hill.
The Program tries to stay within the confines of Stadium way, however is not limited to those places due to concern for student safety. SafeWalk is always looking for volunteers as it is a volunteer dependent program.
Volunteers can sign up for entire shifts or in hourly blocks, but whole shifts are encouraged. SafeWalk is a great opportunity for student groups and organizations to reach out to the community in a fun way.
Anyone can sign up by calling 509-335-WALK (9255), or by contacting Josh Hart at joshua.hart@email.wsu.edu. SafeWalk runs Thursday 8pm-12am, Friday and Saturday 9pm-2am.
Along with volunteers, it is highly important students use SafeWalk if they ever feel uncomfortable to walk to their destination. At its core, it is a service to provide peace of mind to WSU students in their travels across campus, or even to the bus stop around the corner.
Walk it out. SafeWalk.
